My name is Michele and I’m a Paleo eater and recipe creator, runner, mom of 3, and the gal behind Paleo Running Momma! tasted pretty yummy….thanks for that recipe.. Haha you could have also used coconut sugar if you had that on hand! It amazes me how many awesome friendships start from blogging. Thanks for the great paleo idea.  The addition of almonds and flaked coconut gives the topping a bit of extra “toasted” flavor and texture, if that makes any sense. I can’t get enough coconut flour so I used that in the topping and then some shredded coconut. Quick, simple, and perfect to make ahead of time! I’ve got no problem with that! I’m just giddy with excitement and I can’t wait to chit chat with my dear friend in person! I used three packages, 12oz/package. Maybe peaches or blueberries? The only thing I do differently is double the crumbles recipe, use a smidge less maple syrup, and use arrowroot powder instead of tapioca starch (same amount) since that’s what I carry in the house. I’ve also found that using frozen sliced strawberries from Sam’s Club gives it a great, if not better, flavor than fresh strawberries. I’d love to make this crumble this spring! Toss the sliced strawberries in a large bowl with the lemon juice, tapioca and maple OR coconut sugar and arrange in the bottom of a 9” pie dish or baking dish. And because we have decided Paleo Strawberry Crumble calories don’t count, we serve it up with a hefty scoop (or twelve) of ice cream. Amazing warm with ice cream & so good cold too for breakfast or a snack- just enjoyed some with my coffee moments ago. Soo sooooo good! Also, I found that coconut oil did not impart too much of a coconut flavor overall, but just enough. For the topping I also added some walnuts. Using the basic framework of a family favourite crumble recipe, I created a grain, gluten, dairy and refined sugar-free delight that also happens to be insanely delicious!. There’s nothing bad in it and it’s absolutely scrumptious. Never thought of doing a grain-less crumble though.. These Strawberry Crumble Bars have an irresistible crust and crumble topping that's full of texture - no oats necessary! Thanks. Let stand for 10 minutes before serving with ice cream. Thank you for sharing that! A small amount of pure maple syrup is used to naturally sweeten this tasty treat. After the topping ingredients were run through the blender I added chopped walnut and almond pieces for a little more texture. Julia thinks we’re awesome. Though you don’t technically need a blender/processor for the topping since you can just chop up the nuts finely, I recommend using one to make things extra easy. Add the almonds to a high speed blender or food processor and pulse until crumbs form. That’s probably what I love most about it. The perfect balance of sweet and tart. I do a little too much of everything (except cleaning), and I enjoy laughing at myself. Oh and maybe dessert. It’s been a pleasure as always. But I cannot detox without at least a few treats in there and this Paleo Strawberry Crumble is amazing for situations like that. Great summer dessert to satisfy my enormous sweet tooth. The crumble topping was fantastic. Hi! Plus, having frozen strawberries in the freezer means I will always have “fresh” ingredients on hand. I shall have to give this one a try!! Anyway, I’m serious when I say this is the best dessert I’ve ever had. What better way to celebrate than with a tasty seasonal crumble! For the crumble topping, cut the butter into the flour and baking powder with a pastry blender until it looks like a rough, pale oatmeal. I did take part in the eating of it of course, as did my husband Adam, who claimed it tasted just like one of those strawberry shortcake ice cream pops reminiscent of childhood (he ate it with the ice cream, of course) and that it was the best dessert I’ve ever made.
