Come to find out, they are from California (actually the East coast originally) and the husband is the chef. There is a long bar in the entry way and small tables. It was perfectly cooked and the sauce that came with it was a perfect combination. This and the Palm are the closest to Maryland crab cakes in the Denver area. My favorite was the pave cake, usually the fruit ends up like mush in this type of cake but the raspberries were plump, fresh, and bursting with flavor. Even though this was my first visit, I felt like our waiter, Blake was someone that had known our table for years. We ate at about 6:45pm and the restaurant was about half full, quiet, and very inviting. It's one thing to have a good crab cake, scollop or fish plate, but it's a whole other experience at Trestles. After getting stuffed on the beautiful entree, the dessert cart was brought around. Pro tip: opt for the gruyere potatoes- they were soooo good! The potatoes were creamy with crusty places where the cheese had cooked. Both were delicious!! My husband and I had a date night and we planned on going to the restaurant across the way. which was delectable. We sat at the bar and tried oysters and many small plates so we could try a lot of their dishes . The bartender Quintin that works there is not only an excellent drink mixer he is also a great human being and we come back just to see him! The service was excellent.
